国際交流員（CIR）とは　What is a Coordinator for International Relations?

全国の在住外国人数は年々増加しており、武雄市も例外ではありません。
そのような中、武雄市では、多文化共生のまちづくりを進めるため令和7年7月末から国際交流員（CIR）を任用しています。
言語や文化の違いから誤解や偏見が生まれ、外国人が不当な扱いを受けるケースも少なくありません。
お互いに相互理解を深めるためにも、国際交流員（CIR）の「日本語を話せる外国人」という特色を活かし、言葉の壁がない状態で交流活動を推進していきたいと考えています。
今後、CIRを中心に日本人と外国人が相互に理解し合い、尊重し合える社会の実現を目指しています。

Across the country, the number of foreign residents has been steadily increasing, and Takeo City is no exception.
To support this trend, and as part of its vision to create a city where people from diverse cultures can live in harmony, Takeo City began employing a Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) at the end of July 2025.
Given the misunderstandings and biases that often arise from differences in language and culture, foreign residents are sometimes not treated in the most appropriate manner. To foster deeper mutual understanding, the CIR plays a key role in bridging this gap. By leveraging their unique position as a "foreigner who speaks Japanese", they help create an environment where cross-cultural exchange can flourish without the usual language barriers.
With the CIR at the center of these efforts, we remain committed to building a society where both Japanese and foreign residents can develop mutual understanding and respect.
